Taking place every financial quarter, it allows us to monitor and map the industry ensuring we provide the right support, to the right people, at the right time. It provides a snapshot of manufacturing trends as well as an overview of economic conditions and sector issues.
The Barometer has been trialled successfully in the South West of England and has being rolled out nationally this quarter. Manufacturers throughout England are able to participate in this quarterly survey. If you are a manufacturer based in England and you would like to take part please register via the registration link above.
Trends will be measured that highlight growth patterns as per the examples shown below, taken from the recent trial survey.

Key findings will also be identified as in the example table below, taken from the results of the recent trial survey:

There will be comment on the findings from MAS, please see example below taken from the trial survey:
Manufacturers are understandably cautious about their prospects but there are genuine reasons to be confident and bullish about the future. The Government is committed to helping manufacturers to prosper, as was borne out by Minister for Business, Mark Prisk’s announcement of a new, nationally-operated Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) focused on driving growth, which our network of local specialists will continue to deliver.
