MAS urges the best of British to step forward
Launched by Business Secretary Vince Cable in November, the campaign aims to challenge outdated notions of the industry and to boost the image of modern manufacturing.
Starting with the Make it in Great Britain Challenge, a national competition to find the most promising and cutting-edge pre-market products or processes, it will culminate in an exhibition which celebrates the best of British manufacturing, held at the Science Museum during the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The exhibition will highlight the successes of the manufacturing sector, show the true face of British manufacturing and encourage young people to consider a career in the industry.
Further work on the campaign will commence in early 2012 and MAS is encouraging manufacturing businesses to register their interest now to showcase their world beating products, processes and innovations at the Science Museum from 24th July to 9th September 2012.
The exhibition will celebrate the country’s manufacturing champions and demonstrate class-leading processes and products from a wide range of manufacturing industries.
